Meet Steven Cambronero Fallas, Captain of the Tiger Fly here at Maverick Costa Rica!

What fishing advice do you have for clients?

My advice for clients is to fully enjoy their fishing day. In fishing, there are good days and not-so-good ones, but the important thing is to make the most of each moment on the water and appreciate the experience itself. Fishing is more than just catching fish; it's about connecting with nature and enjoying the surroundings.

What is your favorite fish to catch and why?

Personally, I believe that any type of fish offers an exciting experience. For me, those who don't feel excitement for catching any type of fish might be in the wrong job. Each fish species presents its own challenges and rewards, and the true pleasure lies in the adventure of fishing itself.

What activity, besides fishing, would you recommend guests to do while they are in the area?

In addition to fishing, there are a variety of exciting activities I would recommend to guests. These include canopy tours, horseback riding tours in the area, and rafting. These activities allow visitors to explore and fully enjoy the beautiful natural environment the area has to offer.

What's your favorite thing about Costa Rica?

My favorite thing about Costa Rica is undoubtedly fishing. The abundant diversity of marine species and the beauty of the coastal landscapes make this country a paradise for fishing enthusiasts. Additionally, the fishing culture and the relaxed lifestyle of coastal communities contribute to creating a unique and memorable experience for anglers.

What Costa Rican food would you recommend guests try while visiting?

I would recommend guests try the 'casados'. This typical Costa Rican dish consists of a combination of rice, beans, plantains, fresh salad, and meat (usually chicken, beef, or fish). Casados are delicious, nutritious, and reflect the rich culinary tradition of the country.

What is your personal philosophy regarding the balance between work and personal life?

In my experience, in this type of work, more time is spent at work than at home. However, I believe it is important to find a balance between work and personal life to maintain health and well-being. Although it may be demanding, it is crucial to dedicate time to activities outside of work that allow us to relax and recharge.

How do you adapt to changes in the workplace or in the company?

I always strive to give my best effort and maintain a positive attitude towards changes in the workplace or in the company. I consider adaptability to be a key skill in any work environment, and I am willing to learn and adjust to new situations and challenges as long as they are beneficial for both parties.

What do you like most about the work environment in our company?

What I like most about the work environment in our company is the camaraderie. Collaboration and mutual support among colleagues create a positive and motivating atmosphere to work in. Additionally, camaraderie strengthens the bonds within the team.
