The Triple Crown at Los Sueños Resort is one of the most recognized sportfishing tournament series in the world. Hosted in Costa Rica’s Central Pacific waters, it gathers experienced anglers, captains, and crews from across the international billfishing circuit, including well-known programs such as the boat owned by Michael Jordan.
The 1st Leg marked the first official participation for Trophy Fly in this prestigious series.

Day 3 was statistically the strongest, with 27 releases, earning the team 4th place for that round.
Iand Oporta’s Performance
A key highlight of the tournament was Iand Oporta’s outstanding performance.
Out of the 63 sailfish released by Trophy Fly, 44 were caught by Iand — an exceptional individual contribution representing the majority of the team’s total releases.
Considering his young age, this level of performance is remarkable. Throughout the three days, Iand demonstrated consistency, composure, and competitive maturity well beyond his years, positioning himself among the anglers with the highest number of catches in the entire tournament.
